Michael Nuce, AGACNP-BC

Michael Nuce began his medical education at Valdosta State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology in 2014. Michael advanced his education at Augusta University graduating with a Master in Nursing (MSN) with a concentration in Clinical Nurse Leader in 2016. He proceeded to gain a second Master's degree in Acute Care Gerontology Nurse Practitioner from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Michael's professional career began at Northside Hospital, working as a Critical Care Registered Nurse. He later transitioned to the Medical University of South Carolina where he augmented his Critical Care Nursing skills with the use of Interventional Radiology, a technique that helps guide less invasive procedures, thereby reducing pain and recovery times. In 2023 Michael relocated to Athens, GA joining Piedmont Athens Regional before becoming part of the Athens Neurological Associates (ANA) team in 2024.

Joining ANA was a long-held aspiration for Michael ever since he completed his first Nurse Practitioner rotation at the practice while studying for his second Master's. Michael enjoyed the positive atmosphere at ANA and appreciated the leadership's willingness to reinvest in their employees' professional development.

Michael's family history with neurological disorders provided him with an impassioned interest in the field of Acute Care Gerontology. Having personally witnessed the challenges accompanying neurological conditions, Michael brings a distinctive and compassionate perspective that adds depth to his practice of Acute Care Gerontology.

No Georgia Bulldogs fan family would be complete without a great dog! And the Nuce's 10 year old pit bull named Georgia fits the bill perfectly as the adored family mascot. Michael and his wife of 10 years, Christine, are proud UGA season ticket holders. When not cheering on the dogs they enjoy avid hiking, fishing and golf. Michael and Christine are thrilled to be raising their two and a half year old daughter and a five year old son in the Classic City!
